Skills Development

The Drakenstein Municipality has embarked on a comprehensive skills development programme. This programme aims to equip unemployed men and women with the necessary technical and entrepreneurial skills to start their own businesses and improve their chances of finding employment.

Business Support Programme

The Drakenstein Municipality facilitates the establishment and support of small businesses in its area of jurisdiction. This is done in partnership with Red Door and SEDA.

Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP)

The EPWP programme is aimed at providing short-term employment to unemployed people in Drakenstein through the implementation of Council’s Capital Budget. Men and women are employed for period up to six months to work on specific projects to provide them with an income and a chance to develop their skills.
