Protective Services Department
Protective Services consists of the following sections:

- Municipal Law Enforcement
- Training and Administration
- Law Enforcement
Law Enforcement is a recently established section, which aims to enforce the municipal by laws for licensing, trade, compliance and safety.
- Fire/ Rescue Services and Disaster Management
The Fire Department is divided into two main sections focusing on Operations and Support Services. The two main functions of the Fire Section co-ordinate the following functions.
- Operations
- Fire Safety
- Training
- Administration
- Disaster Management
The Fire Section also has a training centre, is only one of a few which is SETA accredited. Training provided at this facility, is accredited and accepted nationally.
Disaster Management as a division within the Fire Section focuses on disaster preparedness for the whole of Drakenstein Municipality. The main objective is to ensure that the municipality is in a state of preparedness and readiness, in order to deal with disasters if and when it occurs.
