Drakenstein Municipality is proud to present skills development opportunities for unemployed youth permanently residing in Drakenstein's rural wards.
These wards are Wards 1: Simondium, 3: Windmeul and Berg River farms, 17: Northern Paarl, Nieuwedrift, 18: Soetendal, Wellington North, 25: Farms adjacent to Lantana, 28: Ronwe, Salem, Keerweder, Fraaigelegen and adjacent farms, 29: Perdeskoen farms, 30: Saron, 31: Hermon, Bovlei, Gouda.
The Municipality wants to enhance economic opportunities and employment options, particularly in Drakenstein's marginalised communities.
The basic requirements for the Code 10 / Code C Learner's Licence Project:
- Historically disadvantaged South Africans (HDSAs) between the ages of 18 and 35
- The total number of candidates will be divided among the communities within the Drakenstein area
- Candidates have one opportunity to complete the learner's licence training
- A register will be kept by the instructors in terms of classes that must be attended and if a candidate is absent three times or more, he/she will be removed from the training and could be held liable for all costs incurred up to the point of withdrawal.
