DRAKENSTEIN MUNICIPALITY: EXTERNAL AND RURAL BURSARIES FOR THE 2027 ACADEMIC YEAR
Drakenstein Municipality invites qualifying applicants between ages 18 and 35 years, who permanently residing in Paarl, Wellington, Gouda, Saron and Simondium to apply for partial bursaries granted for full-time studies in the fields relevant to the Local Government Sector, such as: - Engineering, Including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electro-Technical Engineering;
- Town & Regional Planning, Local Economic Development and Tourism; Architectural Technology, Environmental, Water/Wastewater, Solid Waste;
- Finance, including Financial Management, Accounting or Auditing);
- Artisan Development Training Qualifications, such as Diesel Mechanics; Welding; Building Construction; Plumbing; Electrical Heavy Current);
- Community and Social Development;
- Sports Administration, Public Administration and Services, including Law Enforcement; Firefighting; Traffic Management; Human Resources; Public Management; and
- Accredited Skills Programmes (offered by accredited Learning Providers) such as Hairdressing, Welding, Painting, Grasscutting, Digger-loader etc.

PLEASE NOTE!
Applicants should attach their latest results (June or September 2026) and proof of application to a tertiary/learning institution to the application form. Drakenstein Municipality current bursary holders continuing with courses will automatically qualify if their performances are within the provisions of the policy. Only fully completed application forms with required documentation will be considered. Should there be no feedback received by 29 January 2027, applicants may assume that their applications have been unsuccessful.
Closing date for applications is Friday, 9 October 2026 at 15:00.
