How to pay your bills


​​How do I pay my municipal account?

Paying your municipal account on time is quick and easy, thanks to a range of hassle-free ways Drakenstein Municipality has arranged for you to settle your bill. You can choose from:
 
EasyPay

EasyPay is linked to all the major retail stores and for your convenience, municipal accounts can be paid at any one of the following: Shoprite, Ackermans, Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Checkers, Spar, Game and PEP.
Please quote your EasyPay number as indicated on your monthly billing statement to make a payment. If you require any assistance, contact EasyPay at 021 680 0100.
 

Ozow


Ozow provides an opportunity for you to conveniently pay your municipal account via Instant EFT which takes you to a secure integrated digital payment platform.

Consumers can therefore conveniently pay their municipal accounts in the comfort of their homes. Please be advised that the municipal account number and amount payable will automatically be retrieved from the municipal statement. To ensure the successful processing of the transaction(s), we kindly request that you double-check the information provided before completing your transaction successfully.

Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) or Direct Banking

For your convenience, Drakenstein Municipality has arranged with all banking institutions to pre-list our banking details for EFTs. This means you can select our banking details by typing in DRAKENSTEIN on your preferred Internet banking website and quoting your 12-digit account number as reference. If you have used this option in the past, the banking details would have automatically been changed to ensure a smooth transition from our previous bankers.

 Please take note of the following when making these types of payments:

​You must use your 12-digit account number as reference for your payment. For example, if the account reference on your statement is 012 345 678 910, then the reference for payment(s) should be 0123454678910. The “0" at the beginning of the account number MUST be included. If the incorrect reference is used, you may be held liable for interest charged on overdue accounts due to payments not being allocated timeously to the correct account. 

Payments from any banking institution (Absa, Standard Bank, Capitec Bank, FNB or others) will normally take two working days to reflect in the Municipality's bank account. To avoid being charged interest, please ensure that your payment is scheduled accordingly. For example, if payment is required by the 15th day of each month, please ensure that your payment is transferred, using any banking institution other than Nedbank, by the 13th day of the month. If the 13th falls on a weekend or public holiday, ensure that the payment is transferred two working days before the weekend or public holiday.

Our offices are open from Mondays to Thursdays from 08:00 until 16:00, and on Fridays from 08:00 until 15:00.
