We are approaching the start of the 16 Days of Activism Campaign, which is held annually from 25 November to 10 December.

However, the success of this campaign rests on our daily individual and collective actions to safeguard our society against this cycle of abuse. That is why we at Drakenstein Municipality show our commitment to this cause throughout the year through our declaration of 365 Days of Activism against gender-based violence (GBV).

I appeal to all the men and women of our municipality to say no to GBV!

Join us in declaring war against this widespread disease against women and children in our society.

All forms of violence against women and children should be eradicated and as men, we should respect and protect all women and children in our society. Drakenstein Municipality will play a pivotal role and work together with other spheres of government, law enforcement agencies and NGOs to ensure the safety of our female colleagues, and women and children in general in Drakenstein.
