Press releases

Drakenstein Municipality asks our community to please assist the Municipality by granting our meter inspectors access to your home to inspect the effectiveness of your prepaid electricity meter.

The purpose of the meter audit is to ensure that the prepaid meters in the field are operating properly. These meter audits are currently taking place throughout the Drakenstein municipal area. Where it is not possible to grant access to the Municipality during normal working hours, appointments can be made to conduct the meter audit after hours.

Residents are requested to ensure that the meter auditors produce the following documentation before allowing them into your home to inspect the prepaid meter.

• An appointment letter from the Municipality;

• An identity card with the logo Drakenstein Municipality and a photo of the meter auditor;

• This identity card will be valid from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2024.

For further information please contact Charles Fortuin or Riaan Brandt at Drakenstein Municipality at  021 807 4538 or 021 807 4887.
