Unsure if your prepaid electricity meter is reset? Find out here

21 November 2024 | Press Releases

Drakenstein Municipality can assure our municipal customers that we have successfully completed your prepaid electricity meters' formal auditing process. That means that if you purchase your electricity from Drakenstein Municipality, your meter has been accurately recoded and you will be able to buy electricity units without any hassles after Sunday, 24 November 2024.

If you are however unsure if your prepaid electricity has indeed been reset, let us set your mind at ease. We have a complete database detailing the day and time on which we visited each property in Drakenstein. You can call the Municipality at 021 807 4564 during office hours and provide your meter number, and we will check and confirm if the key changes were in fact done. You don't need to punch in any numbers into your meter to check.

The Municipality started with the prepaid electricity meter auditing process already in November 2019 and completed it in May 2024.

Please note that this information does not apply to prepaid meters of direct Eskom customers residing in areas such as Saron, Gouda and Hermon, as Eskom is responsible for resetting those. We encourage those customers to contact Eskom directly.

If Drakenstein Municipality customers have any other questions about their prepaid electricity meters' resetting, they can contact Charles Fortuin at 021 807 4538, Riaan Brandt at 021 807 4887, or Christell Witbooi at 021 807 4564 during office hours.
