Drakenstein Municipality, in conjunction with the Western Cape Government’s Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, invites eligible residents to enroll for the peace officer and traffic warden training program.
The aim of this accredited training program is to provide training opportunities to residents of Drakenstein to further their careers and at the same time complete the strategies adopted by Public Safety in the Law Enforcement space.
Along with the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) Certificate, graduates also receive a 12-month Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) contract/internship with the Municipality. The training, as well as the experience gained during the learnership, will enable learners to enhance their skills, thereby making them marketable for future opportunities and
employment in the field of safety.
Interested applicants who meet the requirements should are encouraged to apply using the prescribed application form obtainable from the Municipal offices (during normal office hours), as well as from our website.
Minimum Requirements: Certified copies of the following documentation must be attached:
• A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae
• National Senior Certificate
• SAPS clearance certificate
• Certified copy of South African Identity Document (not older than 3 months)
• Proof of residential address (municipal account)
• Must be between the ages of 20 to 35
• Must be fit and healthy
• Candidates with valid driver’s licence will receive preference
• Candidates must pass the following throughout the recruitment and course period:
1. Diagnostic written test
2. Physical testing
3. Random drug testing
