 | Drakenstein Municipality firefighters heading to Toughest Firefighter Alive 2026
01 October 2026 | Press Releases |
Drakenstein Municipality is wishing our 14‑member team who will be testing their mettle at the Toughest Firefighter Alive Competition all the very best. The contest is taking place at the Garden Route Mall in George from Thursday, 1 October 2026, to Saturday, 3 October 2026.
Our Fire and Rescue Services team includes four women and 10 men, competing across the following categories:
- Over‑50s team (one entry)
- Mixed team (two men, two women) (two entries)
- Individual men (six entries)
- Individual women (three entries)
This three‑day test of strength, endurance and teamwork will once again showcase the grit and skill of our firefighters.
Last year, Drakenstein Municipality shone with a gold medal in the mixed relay as well as podium finishes in individual categories. We know our team will carry that same spirit into this year's competition.
We wish our firefighters strength and success – you make Drakenstein proud!
