Drakenstein Municipality has made good progress with the procurement of back-up generators linked to the R6 million Emergency Municipal Load Shedding Relief Grant (EMLRG) allocation received from the Western Cape Department of Local Government.
Service providers have received the purchase orders for the generators which will be installed at the Paarl Wastewater Treatment Works, Conrad Wastewater Pump Station, Perold Water Pump Station, the Paarl Civic Centre and communications centre, Market Street building and coordination centre, and Paarl East Housing offices. Progress is on track with an anticipated completion date of 30 June 2023.
