“On behalf of Drakenstein Municipality, I extend my heartfelt wishes to all our young people on this significant day.
“I am reminded of the words of Kailash Satyarthi, children’s activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner, who once said, ‘the faces of young people are the faces of our past, our present, and our future’. These words deeply resonate with me as I witness first-hand the enthusiasm and courage of Drakenstein’s young people. Our youth is the driving force behind progress, innovation, and positive change in our society.
“At Drakenstein Municipality, we firmly believe that youth development is not just a responsibility, but a shared commitment. We must join hands, irrespective of our backgrounds or positions, to provide guidance, mentorship, and access to resources that will empower our young citizens to realise their dreams.
“As Executive Mayor, I call upon all residents, community leaders, educators, parents, and businesses to actively participate in creating an environment where our youth can thrive. Let us provide them with platforms for expression, opportunities for skills development, and avenues to showcase their talents.
“May this Youth Day be meaningful for all!”
