Drakenstein Municipality is thrilled to announce that it has aced its fifth back-to-back clean audit opinion from the Auditor-General of South Africa for the 2022/23 financial year. This is the Municipality’s ninth clean audit and 16th unqualified audit opinion.
“This is a great achievement and a strong indication that Team Drakenstein is keeping our eye on the ball,” says Alderman Conrad Poole, Executive Mayor of Drakenstein Municipality. “Our ongoing commitment to uncompromising fiscal discipline, clean governance and responsible financial management is clearly paying off.
“I would like to thank and congratulate the whole management team on this remarkable accomplishment, with a special word of thanks to Dr Johan Leibbrandt, the City Manager, Bradley Brown, our Chief Financial Officer, and his team,” says Alderman Poole.
In his final report for the 2022/23 financial year, the Auditor-General commended the Municipality for maintaining a financially unqualified with no material findings on predetermined objectives and compliance audit outcome for five consecutive years.
