08 May 2024As the winter approaches, it is important to make sure your home is safe and secure, and remains dry.
Here is what you can do:
- Inspect and fix your roof. Look for leaks or damages both on the inside and outside. On the inside, check for signs of water damage such as dark spots or blistering paint from possible leakage, or any outside light shining through the roof. Do not forget to inspect for rot and mould too. On the outside, look for any signs of damage such as loose roof sheeting or tiles, blistering paint or sealant, as well as moss or algae growth. Arrange for any necessary repairs to be done in advance.
- Clear your gutters and downspouts. Remove leaves, twigs, debris, or any other obstructions to ensure proper drainage and prevent clogging. Make sure your property’s downspouts are clear too so that rainwater can run freely.
