YOUTH WHO WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
DEPARTMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE
The Western Cape Government (WCG) Department of Infrastructure is inviting suitably qualified applicants residing in the Cape Winelands District to apply for Training opportunities in the Construction Sector. The Training program entails: Undergoing theoretical and practical training at a public or private TVET college; working on a building site; applying health and safety regulations;
maintaining work areas; and undertaking administrative tasks.
PLUMBING HAND L3 (Ref. PH)
SOLAR MOUNTER L4 (Ref. SM)
Minimum requirements:
• Between 18 and 30 years old
• Resident of the Cape Winelands District
• Plumbing Hand: Grade 10 / NQF L3 or NCV L3
• Solar Mounter: NQF L4/ Grade 12 or NCV L4 / N2 with a pass in Mathematics
Other requirements:
- Applicants must enjoy good health and be willing to undergo a medical and substance abuse examination.
- Successful applicants will be required to work on a construction site as part of the training program.
- Successful applicants must be willing to travel and work at various building sites across the Western Cape.
- Successful applicants will be required to sign a 12-month Training Agreement.
- Stipend: R2 500 per month for the duration of the Training Agreement.
- Applicants can use facilities at a local Library, Thusong Centre, E-Centre Youth Café or Internet Café OR personal smartphones to register on the SA Youth.Mobi platform.
- Shortlisted candidates will be requested to upload certified copies of their ID and highest education certificate on the SAYouth.Mobi site when requested by the Department of Infrastructure.
