Gearing up for the festive season and making sure driving in Drakenstein is a pleasure for our visitors and residents, Drakenstein Municipality is hard at work fixing potholes and beautifying our city.

From 29 November to 3 December 2021, our Roads teams have repaired no less than 115 potholes in Paarl (54), Wellington (33) and Mbekweni (28).

Potholes develop as a direct result of small cracks on the road surface where, with the intrusion of water and heavy wheel impact, the hole is formed. Rainy weather makes it difficult to fix them properly, but now that summer is here, the teams can work quicker and ensure that our roads are in a good condition.
