16 Days of action non-violence against women and children
The section facilitated the 16 days of action non-violence against women and children. Approximately 300 women attended various workshops of empowerment focussing on gender based violence and victim empowerment. The various workshops was organised by the Gender forum and facilitated by the various government and non-government stakeholders. The integration of services from the Department of Health and Social services was critical to the success of the programme which included interventions on breast cancer, cervical cancer and teenage pregnancies. Beneficiaries who attended the workshop came from all wards in the Drakenstein municipal area.
