Drakenstein Municipality is responsible for traffic law enforcement, including speed control, in our municipal area. 

We understand that misinformation printed by local media - based on unconfirmed sources and despite being provided with the facts by the Municipality - created the impression that speed cameras were removed from our roads. 

The Municipality wishes to clear up any confusion, keep our community informed, and point out that all our speed cameras are indeed in place and working, as seen in the image below that was taken this morning. The Municipality has successfully adapted the service level agreement with our speed camera maintenance service provider. 

We urge all our motorists to refrain from speeding and report any reckless driving to the authorities.
