Important NoticesNOTICE OF TEMPORARY DISCONNECTION OF POWER
ESKOM intend to perform emergency maintenance work to their distribution network in Wellington. ONLY Drakenstein Municipal consumers in Wellington area will be affected. The wards that will be affected are Ward 2, 5, 7, 10, 11, 18, 29, 31.
Kindly note that ESKOM might temporarily or permanently reconnect or disconnect any area during the stipulated time. The installation must therefore always be considered live.

------------------------------------------------------ REGIONAL SHORTAGE OF IMPORTANT TRAFFIC FORMS
The Western Cape is facing a critical shortage of face value document forms. This document is used for duplicate licenses, learner's licenses, motor licenses, renewals, and re-registrations.
Considering this shortage, Drakenstein Municipality will prioritise Drakenstein residents with the limited supply we have available.
Unfortunately, we will be unable to accommodate individuals outside our borders at this time.

DEFORMATION ON THE SURFACE OF VAN DER STEL ROAD
Update:
Laboratory test will commence on Van Der Stel road on 20 April 2024. We do not anticipate that the road will be closed, but delays may be experienced to complete the much urgent investigation. Drakenstein Municipality thank all residence for their patience in this regard. ------------------------------------------------------
DEFORMATION ON THE SURFACE OF VAN DER STEL ROAD
Please note that underway currently is a process of investigating the deformation on the surface of Van Der Stel Road. Some tests are done by external Laboratories and reinstatement of the road surface will commence as soon as results are known.

OVERSIGHT REPORT ON THE 2022/2023 ANNUAL REPORT
Notice is herewith given in terms of section 129(3) of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, 2003 (Act 56 of 2003), read together with section 21A of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000), that the Drakenstein Municipal Council has adopted on 27 March 2024 the Oversight Report on the 2022/2023 Annual Report without any reservations.
The Oversight Report and the 2022/2023 Annual Report will be available for perusal during normal office hours and also after hours at libraries that offer after hour services, at the following venues:
• All public libraries in Paarl, Paarl East, Mbekweni and Wellington; • Thusong Multi-Purpose Centres in Mbekweni and Paarl East; and • Municipal Offices at Paarl Civic Centre, Paarl East, Mbekweni, Wellington, Gouda and Saron.

DRAKENSTEIN MUNICIPALITY LEASE OF MUNICIPAL PROPERTIES –WARDS 11, 17 AND 9
Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 21 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (Act 32 of 2000), the Asset Transfer Regulations and the Drakenstein Municipal Asset Transfer Policy (approved on 31 May 2021), that the Municipality intends to lease the following municipal properties, subject to certain conditions as set out below:-
The details regarding the transactions are as follows:
1. Property: Portion of Erf 5810, Van Wykslvlei, Wellington Lessee: Lollypop Educare Centre Purpose: Crèche, aftercare and educare purposes Lease Period: 5 (five) years Lease amount: R483,48 per month Current zoning: “Community Use Zone” Size: ± 300m²
2. Property: Portion of Erf 4916, Paarl Lessee: Trailer Hire Paarl (Pty) Ltd Purpose: Business purposes Lease Period: 3 (three) years Lease amount: R4,836.22 per month Size: ± 1640m²
3. Property: Erf 19519, Paarl Lessee: Isidiliya Purpose: Educational and Community Development purposes Lease Period: 3 (three) years Lease amount: gratis Current zoning: “Community Use Zone” Size: ± 1,9190 ha

DRAFT 2024/2025 DRAKENSTEIN SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK
Notice is hereby given in terms of section 21(1)(a) of the Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000), the Process Plan in terms of section 34 of the Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000), section 20(3) of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (Act 16 of 2013), section 13 of the Western Cape Land Use Planning Act, 2014 (Act 3 of 2014) and section 7(b) of the Drakenstein Bylaw on Municipal Land Use Planning, 2018, that the draft 2024/2025 Drakenstein Spatial Development Framework (SDF) is available for public comments.
A hard copy of the document is available for review at the following venues:
• Paarl Civic Centre • Wellington Municipal Offices • Gouda Municipal Offices

Open day sessions, in conjunction with the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) open days, will be held during April 2024, at venues across the municipality, where officials will be available to inform and discuss any queries relating to the SDF.
Comments must be submitted in writing to the City Manager, Drakenstein Municipality, P.O. Box 1, Paarl 7622 or customercare@drakenstein.gov.za by no later than 6 May 2024. No late comments will be considered.
